ParticipantHello,
I have a Neff oven model B1691 which is not producing heat. There appear to be two elements, one around the fan accessible from the inside of the oven and the other for the grill above. Now it may be coincidence but neither is working. The controls all illuminate as they should, the fan works, but no heat. I was wondering if there is a control module which is common to both functions – grill and fan oven? there may be other elements in this oven but they’re the ones that I can see.
I have changed the element surrounding the fan within the last two years.

when you try to use the oven does the neon light on the panel come on?

HI Dave,
Yes, all of the controls appear to be working normally including the graduated temperature indicator – although obviously it remains at the bottom of the scale.

understand now more. looked up parts breakdown and yours is electronicaly controlled rather than switches
there are a number of possibilities
1 elements although its unlikely they both went you cant rule it out so you have to be sure
2 pcb the control board or the clock may be faulty. may be a simple solder joint on a relay on the boardDave

Thanks Dave
Time to take a proper look and test the elements, although, as you say its unlikely they both went at the same time. I’ll check the the pcb too.
Thanks for your help.

I’ve tested all 4 elements and they’re all fine. I whipped out the thermostat which sits inside a tube in the oven. I’ve tried my meter across it and I get continuity but don’t seem to be able to get any kind of consistent resistance reading. I think it may be faulty. The circuit boards all appear fine nothing loose or burned. The part number from the NEFF website is 187586
The E-Nr number is B1691N0GBDo you have one of these?

Found one on your website that refers to my model number. The picture shows a white block on the end – I’m assuming I can cut that off as my has a simple connection block at the back?

Hi Martin
Mine hasn’t got a block like the one shown in the photograph, it’s connected to a simple wiring block. It’s only two wires so I can’t see that it would make much difference. Unless I’m missing something?

Ok so I’ve changed the PTC sensor – still no heat but everything, as before, is working normally including the fan. Error code 444 on start up – anyone know how to reset this?

If everything on your B1691N0GB oven seems to be working, i.e. all the lights are on and fan comes on in fan oven setting, but there is no heat from fan oven, conventional oven or grill, try turning your oven off at the mains, then turn on again. If the temperature display then shows 444, your oven is locked. To unlock, make sure the central control knob is in the “out” position, then press the fan oven and light buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds or so, until 333 appears on the display. Your oven is now unlocked.
