Our NEFF oven has recently started misbehaving, we almost only use it on the fan oven setting. Initially it would reset/turn itself down to 160c while it was in use. We thought this was happening when the timer was also being used, but after not using the timer it still continued to sometimes reset back to 160c when the temp has been set to 180-200c.Now the problem has got worse – when I went to use last night, one click of the dial/knob to the right should turn oven into fan-oven mode. However nothing at all happens, the fan-oven light does not come on, fan does not start up, neither does the heating element turn on. As far as I know (haven’t tested much…) the other modes do come on and work properly.
Any thoughts? I’ve never done any oven repairs but do have an IT hardware background, also have also done various car repairs so am competent fixing things myself if as long as I have a decent guide to follow! Would be keen to have a go fixing this myself mainly as a money saving exercise…
Seems like an issue with the electronics control panel or similar component? Anyone with any useful suggestions as to what is wrong and how to DIY fix would be extremely appreciated!
Thanks all

ParticipantHi Dave – thanks for your reply – would an issue with the element explain why the Oven was turning itself down from 180-200c to 160c while in use? I can’t quite explain what else exactly happened but the control panel/LED display did seem a tad twitchy since the oven changing its temperature problem started.
Also a little update – after MUCH trial and error, repeatedly turning the knob to ‘fan-oven’ mode, the oven did turn on again but I’ve not been able to replicate this.

Moderatorwell element was a long shot
you have a selector switch and an electronic panel. you could check all connections and switch contacts
look at the circuit board and look for blown capacitors
if the board has gone not only is it £190 but its not available
