    Hi,
Just started having problems with our very reliable oven, a NEFF B1664N0GB/03. When using it on Circotherm (most heavily used setting), it heats up and then beeps to signal temperature has been reached and then continues to heat until around 210 degrees. It started burning a few things in the last few days and I’ve been trying to understand the problem. I put a couple of temperature measuring devices on the oven shelf as it heated, at around 70 (on the devices) the oven beeped showing the 3 bars on the display (this usually signifies oven is at the right temperature and ready), but then the temperature just kept getting hotter and hotter until around 210.

I was initially wondering if it was the thermostat, this was changed about 6 months ago for a new one, but if it beeps isn’t that a signal the thermostat is working? Not sure how power is applied to the heating element, but could it be a seized relay that isn’t turning off when it should?

Fan’s running fine, element is clearly heating and thermostat I assume is working…..? I don’t want to throw money at it unless I’m reasonably confident of the fault.

Any advice from the Forum on this one, has anyone seen an issue like this before? If it is a relay does it mean replacing the whole board?

    Thanks for any guidance.

    does sound like a relay

and as far as Neff is concerned its a board but if you can find an equivalent relay it can be soldered in

Dave is right but these ovens don’t have thermostats they are mechanical devices the have ptc which are electronic way of measuring temperature to ge a accurate temperature of the oven needs to be set to 200 degrees and the temperature needs to be taken in the centre of the oven
