ParticipantI have a Neff U1420 built in oven and I need to replace the fan motor assembly.
My problem is simple (at least I wish it was). After removing the 2 star head screws the oven will not slide out. It has been in there 15 years, but it won’t budge. 🙁
Any advice on how to go about removal will be very welcome.

Very often held in by 4 screws not 2. 😉

Thanks Martin, I have looked for more than the 2 screws but cannot find any. The only two visible appear to connect to the door hinge mechanism too. The manual specifies 2 screws also.
I have wondered if the unit needs to be lifted slightly whilst pulling it.
It is extremely annoying that I may have to get a professional out to do a job I am more than capable of.October 3, 2014 at 12:17 pm #419750Martin

We professionals can get it sorted (very often same day) very efficiently and with the correct equipment for a surprisingly modest fee. You eliminate any further day and the aggravation factor with a simple phone call. Worth considering. 😉

Thanks again Martin, I have been down that route and it seems there is nobody local who wants to be bothered with the job, it is the same for most things in this town, hard to get someone to do the job, the result of choosing to live where I do.

Thanks Don,
Followed the “option” and came up with 1 in Beverley and 2 in Hull, I live in Hornsea about 15 – 20 miles away from both. But that appears to be my only option. I don’t like having to pay extra for mileage covered but that comes with the territory of living the quiet life.

Tried the one in Beverley but have had no response. Happens all the time, no-one seems to want the work. I guess the recession must be over.

If you’re sure it’s not got more screws, I’d get a strong fit neighbour to help you, your wife or any female you live near will recommend the nearest.

My wife recommends the next door neighbour Arnie. No, not that Arnie I hope.

You may want to check some muppet hasn’t placed screws through the side panels.
