ParticipantI have a Neff AP22-7 Oven about 5 years old. My wife switched it on yesterday and it tripped the fuse. On restarting it there is no heat from the oven or the grill. The clock, light and fan all work. The 2 elements look OK.
Could it be that both elements have failed simultaneously or could it be something else?January 8, 2006 at 11:03 pm #160237gegsy

Hi
I take it you were on the fan oven selection when it blew a fuse??
If so its most likely the circular element has failed -P/no 499003.The top element you can see is for the grill only and would not be activated under fan assisted cooking.
See spares@ for part/s you may require.

Thanks for the quick reply.
When switched to grill only, the grill element does not work.
Would the circular element failure cause the grill element to stop working?January 8, 2006 at 11:33 pm #160241gegsy

Hi
The failure of the fan element would bare no connection to the grill element. A more common factor of the two is in play.
Considering facts of your fault may I suggest repairs@ to get an accurate diagnosis. Thanks

Because the grill element and the oven element both don’t heat up, but the fan, clock and light works, would this suggest a faulty thermostat?

If they share the thermostat yes or possible selector melt down.

Update:
Changed the Oven element, but STILL no heat.
Everything else seems to be OK, Fan, Light, Clock work, I can swith between oven and grill, and I hear the thermostat click when I turn it on.I’ve pulled it out and had a look inside, can’t see anything obvious and it doesn’t look like there are that many things that can go wrong.
Do you think I should try replacing the thermostat, and if so, does anybody know the part no. and cost?
Many thanks

Another Update:
I have managed to identify the problem, I hope
At the rear of the oven is a small silver button shaped part next to a letter R that looks like its fried. It is connected between the thermostat and the main oven element.
On it is printed
13A/250v
7A/ 400V
T180/1and on the other side
Z42/43
10/230Any ideas of what it is and if I can get a replacement

Limiter – p/no 151326, about £7 + vat IIRC. Email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for ordering and confirmed pricing.
