The element in the main oven had failed. The fan and light still work. The light on the panel comes on. I replaced the element, but it does not get hot. I have continuity tested the new element and it seems sound. What else is there that could have broken at the same time, or cause the element to fail that I cannot tell from inside?

    Thanks for reading.

Re: Neff Oven U1721N0GB/02 Blown Element Replaced but no Hea

the blown element could have also taken out the thermostat or over heat protector

you need to establish if voltage is present at element terminals when switched on at control

SUGGEST YOU GET A QUALIFIED ENGINEER TO CARRY THIS OUT FOR YOU..never work on live equipment

The over heat protector was quite obviously finished off: nice and brown with bits of metal falling out.

I need a new thermostat now. Oven heats up, but the panel light doesn’t switch out and cycle as per normal. Can I easily fit the universal one or is the genuine item better? I see both types are listed on here for this model.

Having checked properly the genuine part listed in the Neff section on this site is only listed as fitting ENr. U1721N0GB/01. Is it compatible for my model?
