    Hi.
My oven is, inevitably, three months out of warranty and the cabinet cooling fan has started running constantly unless, of course, I switch it off at the isolator.
I’ve never had to work on such a modern unit, without traditional thermostats etc. There is a resistor on top of the cabinet (alongside the main wiring to the controls and so on) which has started to discolour (it’s slightly brown) as if it might have been overheating. Apart from that nothing looks untoward.
I guess I’m going to have to work through components one by one to eliminate things, so to try and save the pennies can anyone suggest the most likely culprits and the best place for me to start?
    Many thanks
    Shaun

    diagram shows part no 10006705

which is a resistor with a switch mounted on it. I assume this is their answer to a time delay for a fan. remove one wire from the stat and see if your fan stops

Thanks for coming back to me Dave.

Like you I had been through the exploded diagrams on the Neff website, and also found the part you refer you, however I can’t see where that part is on the diagrams and nor, in fact, could I find it on my oven! Apologies if I’m missing something obvious. It looks on the diagram like the group labelled 0525 but my oven doesn’t have that!? At the moment I have concluded that on my unit this part is actually broken down into two separate components which, on the diagram, are numbers 0526 and 0617 although the latter – which is the discoloured resistor referred to in my original post – is located on top of the cabinet alongside the main wiring, switches and control module etc.

I have ordered those two parts from Neff and will initially replace those and see what happens. Annoyingly they were much more expensive that the item you have highlighted!

    Kind Regards

    Shaun

617 is decribed as a temperture limiter which will be the one that cuts the oven off if its too hot

    with the oven turned off

locate each stat in turn and remove 1 wire. Make sure this wire cannot contact anything else and switch on. if the oven works but the fan doesn’t then its probably the fault. if the oven does not work then it can be your fault, switch off, reconnect it, and try the next one
