NEFF S4132 DISHWASHER AQUA SAFE DEVICE LEAKING

I have recently moved into a house where a Neff S4132 Dishwasher is installed. It looks an older model but appears to be relatively new and unused.

It switches on so there appears to be no electrical issues with it but there seems to be a problem with the grey water hose which attaches to the cold water pipe under my sink. It has a small electrical box attached to it and water is leaking out the bottom when I switch on the cold water under the sink.

I found the instructions for the dishwasher and within it was a leaflet for an “aqua safe” device which states that it is a safety device which ensures that the fresh water hose need only take the stress of water pressure during the actual time water is flowing. This seems to be the device that is leaking.

I’ve had a plumber out and he says its not something they would fix as it appears the box has cracked, maybe during cold weather and has advised me to contact Neff.

Can anyone tell me if this device is necessary or if the pipe can be taken off the machine and replaced with a normal grey water pipe by a plumber or does this need to be dealt with by Neff. 😕

The ‘aquastop device’ from what you say may well have been at some time damaged by frost then I guess? If it were subjected to frost with the water switched on then chances are the plastic casing would split and leak in a way you describe.

So, it is an old machine, it can be fixed, not a DIY job by any means but a local engineer can pretty easily sort it for you. The bad news however is that the total cost of such a fix could be well over £100 and more being as the part alone costs over £50.

So you may have to factor this in before going any further on this. To consult a local engineer for FREE advice then CLICK HERE 😀

Tip: You will need to give the full model number to them though as there are dozens of differing S4132’s. Getting the full number before contacting would be an advantage. 😉

Thats great. I am renting the house so the landlord is liable for the cost. They were just going to replace the dishwasher but then decided to try and fix it first. They sent out a plumber who said he couldnt fix it and said to contact neff which they did but now neff are saying its nothing to do with them and it should be fixed by a plumber!
