Neff S51E50X1GB/13

I’ve just received the kit for the door springs and cords part number 00754869 which looks like a modification of the old system. However all it says in the instructions is ‘Insert tension rope into spring’ followed by a miniscule photograph with it assembled. The plastic bit seems to be too large to fit into the metal slot as it has small lugs either side wider than the hole. Am I missing something (no rude replies please)?

You put the white block/rope through the gap of the spring in an upright position then you pull the rope and the block goes sort of underneath

I had the same problem although managed eventually with molegrips. There was also some information about colour code which i could not understand. I assembled as i thought and it worked fine. I later reordered another set of springs for stock and to see if there was something missing from the first pack. It was identical. Is anyone able to shed some light onto this?

they do go in and very easily when you get it right

you just have to play around. its like one of those cracker puzzles. it goes in very easily without tools
