    Hi

Machine 2 years and 3 mths old – warranty 2 years!!!

Recently had this error code, 2 weeks ago cleaned out the machine and checked no blockages etc turned off and on again and worked. 2 weeks later happened again and now not working. Most things i have read advises ‘the recirculation valve (also referred to as the ‘drain valve’) is defective’ or similar with much fewer notes about the circuit board may need replacing.

Just had engineer around and in 30 seconds advises that he has seen this with many BOSCH and Neff machines and that although almost certainly will be drain valve it is usually due to faulty circuit board and will need to replace both which will cost with repairs nearly as much as the machine so might as well get a new one. I sort of trust him as why would he bother advising that if nothing in it for him other than a quick call out fee which barely covers his costs?

Question – is the main the problem the circuit board? part 2 should I just buy a new machine or take a chance with replacing the drain valve?

    Thanks

well since you have nothing to lose remove the circuit board and look for damaged components. a lot of the time these things go with a bang so it should be visible Dave

How weird – I have Bosch exactly same age exactly the same error.
I changed the Heat Exchanger drain valve but no fix!

Did you fix yours by changing the control PCB? Or??
If so where and which PCB is at fault?

    Many thanks

dont forget that the error is the board cant sense the valve. this could be that it open circuit or the connection or cable is faulty

Thank you, that’s the most meaningful reply I’ve had.

There is no feedback on the valve itself (ie switch) unless the machine either senses current draw or senses the effect of the valve operation (fluid level)

I will check wiring continuity but the cost of a new programmed module is nearly half the machine – and if it is weak design then it may fail again!

    Ugh!

I used to have great confidence in Bosch/Siemens but its starting to be tested.

Thank you again for the advice.

I am afraid Bosch and Neff machines are not what they used to be

I have the same E19 problem – the valve had failed shorted (read 10 ohms) and inspecting the main control board, there was components damaged in relation to this output. I sent the board off to a circuit board repairer who changed a couple of NPN transistors and a resistor. I fitted a new valve which now reads 7200 ohms. Unfortunately – I still have the E19 fault. I suspect there may be further damage on the main PCB or one of the components replaced was incorrect. I have also checked cable continuity between new valve and main control board – which is ok. I don’t suppose I will ever find a schematic for the 9001 140 273 main control board to check the components replaced. Any advice appreciated.

well have got an odd board floating around but dont know what yours looks like to compare the two

post a few pics of your board and the problem area and i will see if it looks the same
