    Help!!
I’m having a bit of a nightmare with this.

Went to the above machine, fault reported machine dead. Tests show no earth fault, power coming in at the mains filter and up to the on/off switch. On/Off switch checks out OK, no visible signs of damage or dry solder joints on the board, so decide it’s the control board.

Order and replace control PCB, turn machine on, program PCB as per instructions all appears well.

(Ooh, just discovered I can expand the editor window I’m typing in, didn’t know you could do that)

Turn machine on, after about 30 seconds the machine makes a slight click and dies. It doesn’t blow a fuse or trip the electrics, I removed the new PCB and check for damage to the board which looks like new. The drain pump isn’t short circuit and still no earth faults.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

Normally you would see one of the chips blown on the board. You have to look very closely, and you will see a chip in the chip.

The cause is normally the divertor / heater.

    Thanks timdowning,

I can see it now, not seen this one before.

Is it caused by a short in the divertor motor?

I can’t see the customer wanting to replace the PCB and heater unit on an 8 year old machine.

This has turned into an expensive problem for me, guess I’ll have to put it down to experience! 🙁
