ParticipantI’ve searched for a solution but not found a relevant thread here, or online really. Most seem to suggest blockages, but the matrix is clear as are all the pipes (blown through to check).
Our Neff S54M45X5GB/90 is not filling at all, it sounds like its trying to, but no water enters at all. This only started since I had to turn on the isolator valve for our kitchen tap as it was leaking. This also stopped the supply to the dishwasher.
My partner tried using the dishwasher whilst the water supply to it thinking only the tap was turned off. Since this, it’s failing to take in water but it does sound like the pump is trying to pull water in. The pump makes noise for a minute or two and then stops – the little tap symbol shows to suggest checking the supply. I reset the unit to clear the tap symbol after checking the supply is good but no water is taken In.
I’ve had the side off and checked for blockages and didn’t find any.
Tried the full reset and poured water into the filter (which does drain when you try to start a cycle) and also emptied all the water to see if that would help, also checked the little impeller under the filter area which spins fine.
The machine does have an aquastop unit fitted. I believe it may be this which has a fault, but wondered if you’ve heard of this before and what else could be wrong/if there is anything else to check?
The side is still off, so can easily check anything.

Photos added!
I tried something else.. I removed the hose that goes from the aquastop into dishwasher, at the dishwasher end. I left the cables connected and started a cycle, and whilst it tried draining and you can hear the pump making noise, nothing came out of the hose. Now I assume this means the valve on the aquastop isn’t opening.
Does that mean the fault is with the aquastop, or is it more likely that there is a fault with something else i.e. what ever controls the aquastop, or is it possibly detecting a fault and telling the aquastop to stay closed?
I have uploaded some photos of both sides of the dishwashers inners, and also a photo of the hose that I disconnected to see if water would come out upon starting a cycle.
Now finally, I watched a video which explained testing the inlet valve? I used a multimeter on it as shown on the video, but i only got a result of 80, the video explained the reading should be between 2000 and 5000 ohms. One of the photos is of what I believe is the inlet valve, but I may have tested the complete wrong thing!
Any help appreciated! Thanks!

What resistance do you get on the black cable going to the inlet valve on the hose. Does it hum when trying to fill?

Thanks for the reply, is that the thicker black cable going to the white block with the purple and red cable in the photo?

Don’t want to state the obvious but are you sure there is water coming out of the cold supply valve for the dishwasher?

Wow can’t believe I didn’t put that in my previous message. Yes I have taken the aqua stop off the cold feed with the valve closed, re-opened slightly snd water came out (bucket was ready). So definitely water there!

Yes disconnect and measure across black cable only

Will try later when I’m back home, is there anything else worth checking?

See photos of readings attached.

You need to correctly set your meter to the 20k setting then disconnect the brown and blue wires to the aqustop then check the resistance between them. If you don’t disconnect them you will also be reading the supply circuitry.
From memory you’ll be looking for something between 2 and 4k across it.

I couldn’t remove the blue and brown as its part of the white block. But I removed the red/purple. Same result?
Will that have worked? Photo below

Why don’t you simply refit the aquastop and turn on the stopcock?

I have, no worky!!
Does that mean the reading suggests it’s ok?

That reading sounds a little high although if it was faulty I’d expect it to be open circuit.
Without live testing which is always a no no the only sure fire method to confirm is to replace it.
It might of course confirm that it isn’t faulty…and then you’re looking at wiring or the pcb…
