Probably you’re only move really. There are ways to live test safely which is the only way to be sure but we couldn’t possibly advise that due to the inherent dangers.

Just a thought, can I use a standard fill hose? Would be a shame to spend £80 and find it doesn’t help. If so what hose would I need? Thanks!

Yes they are expensive and no not really. The aquastop has a valve at the tap end (this is what you’ve been metering) so that would need to be replaced to control the inflow…there’s no facility on the machine to mount one directly

Had someone round today to have a look, turns out its the PCB, can see one of the components has a crack through it! Thanks for your help.

Waiting for it to come. Will I need to do some key combination to set the right mode on it? I recall seeing another thread somewhere where they replaced a PCB and they had to set it to the right mode. I know my current one is C3, so if this replacement was set to something else, what are the steps to select the right code?

Ok so pcb arrived and is now fitted. Set it to C3 per the instructions.

The aquastop now vibrates when the DW requests water, but no water is going in still (I’ve got the left panel off so I can see the water matrix).

There is definitely water at the cold water feed, just took the aquastop off the water feed end to check.The machine shows the tap symbol suggesting to check water again. Did a ‘reset’ and tried again, same result.

Any ideas?

But the pcb had blown, so assumed that would sort it.
Can it be anything other than the aquastop?

Let me clarify further. So the guy came around and noticed that the sequence in which the DW was working was wrong. It would drain, but rather then then try to take in water, the valve that allows the water into the chamber that then goes into where the dishes are was operating.

So he checked pcb and there was a split through a component and a small black mark on the plastic above the failed component.

Now that the pcb is replaced you can now hear the aquastop vibrating when it should be taking in water. But no water is coming through.

Nope, you got me there. It’s not filling, the aquastop is stopping the aqua from entering the machine so I’m reaching a foregone conclusion as to where the fault lies. 😕

I agree, it seems the most obvious culprit, but if i replace that and it’s still broke I’d have spent £150 for nothing in which case it would be better to replace.

Just wondering what else it could be if not the aquastop.

Ok. The aquastop solenoid valve coil has gone short cct due to the lack of water and staying open too long and fried the triac on the pcb. Cause and effect.
If its humming on fill the valve is cooked

Thanks for the reply. Makes total sense. Is it likely to have killed anything else though? Ie should I take the risk of buying the aquastop, or bin and buy new.
