Mains Filter or Water Point device leaking under heater box both common faults.

Thanks for your help, turned out the mains filter was split in half. Have fitted new one but now having trouble starting it. the light sensitive buttons seem ok if i remove board and operate but once fitted back through the fascia they seem very unresponsive? Any ideas would be gratefully received please? Cheers Kez

I take it you have ‘reset’ the programme?

You probably have in fact but just in case: –
To reset (cancel) a programme you just open the door and ‘Cancel Programme’ will be displayed. Press the minus (-) button and ‘Close Door’ will be displayed. Close the door and the drain pump activates for up to 60 secs then the buzzer sounds to indicate it’s completed. The programme has now ‘reset’. 🙂
As far as the button not responding…if the clear panel is dirty or is scratched it will cause touch sensor problems such as you mention.

ParticipantThis is one to check….as it has happened to me. Make sure your fingers are clean when you try and switch the appliance on . I had one where after a repair , neither myself or the customer’s husband could switch the thing on but the customer could. Turned out we had dirty fingers. I proved it to myself by putting a bit of kitchen roll round my finger and it worked….take away the paper and nothing !!!
A good lesson learned lol 🙂

well tried your tip nomad and you are spot on ,wouldnt work with my grubby fingers but put my finger in a plastic bag and it worked every time ,then got the lady in office to try and hey presto works . Is this the first machine to be designed to be only operated by office workers at least this ones owned by a customer in the medical proffesion so we should be ok 😆 cras(on behalf of kez)

Have taken this appliance back and all is working fine. But another question! The customer advises that when it went wrong initially the program that would normally take just under 2 hours was showing as 2hs 45 at the start. Since repair he says its still showing as a 2hr 45 program now?! Any idea if there is some sort of default setting that has been activated? Kind regards. Kez

It defaults at around this time but after a couple of wash cycles that programme time should shorten. Provided of course that the turbidity sensor in the heater box isn’t gunged up? Or the heating element open circuit? 🙁
