    Two issues with this machine:

The motor is making a whirring noise. And customer is getting an intermittant 1 minute error at end of cycle.

The transfer tube and heater are fine.

The motor fitted to this machine has a magnet / tacho set-up. There is also a board in the base which seems to control / vary the motor speed??

What could be giving the intermittant fault. And has anyone stripped one of these motors to alleviate noises?

The customer has given me the go ahead to change the motor but I am reluctant to do so with the intermittant fault.

    Cheers.

Not on this exact model no, but pump impellor’s do tend to get bits of bone, tablet wrappers or glass caught in the blades. As well as a slight leak from shaft seal can get into the ballrace bearing and make it whirr a bit.

Rather than replacing the motor I would strip it down, stick in a new impellor kit (possibly a new 608ZZ bearing as well ) and the job should be a good ‘un! 😉

The “1 minute” issue could be related to sticking pressure chamber or some other component rather than the circl. pump motor. 🙂

    Thanks for reply Martin.

I’m giving the machine chance to error for me. Its in the workshop, so will keep knocking out the programmes until it errors.

If no errors will get the motor out and go from there.
