Neff slide n hide – Grill appear to be glowing in convection function

Customer reported that she noticed recently that the grill have been coming on when she uses the convection setting to make her casserole.

I checked it, the outer grill element glowed, the middle grill element doesn’t appear to be active on this setting. The base element is working. I checked the temperature and it is maintaining temperature.

I am at loss on what is the problem. The customer swears that she hasn’t seen this happened before. My logic doesn’t explain it well, the element will off course glow red until it reaches temperature and I can’t see it for it work by not glowing.

Is it normal behaviour for the oven to do this?

After much discussion, it turned out that the oven bulb went 4 weeks ago, it was two weeks ago that she noticed that the grill element was glowing when she used the convection settings for her casserole. The oven got a lot darker due to blown bulb, the grill element glowing brought her attention to it otherwise she would have not noticed.

I even showed her the exploded diagram of the oven and explained on how it works. I think she realised that the oven is performing perfectly well apart from blown oven bulb which I will replace next week. The oven was too hot for me to change the bulb over. It was one of those weird morning!
