The cooling fan that exhausts above the upper oven, presumably to cool the control panel, stayed on after last cooking session – for hours, until the wall socket was switched off. This fan ought to be thermostat controlled, although if the oven is off but the door is open, eg for cleaning, the fan has always come on after a few minutes, even when completely cold, so it must have a door switch too. Anyway, as soon as the power supply is turned on at the wall, the fan operates continually, even if the oven has been cold overnight and all oven controls are off.
Where should I best start? The wiring diagram is a rat’s nest to follow, obviously, as there are so many linked fail-safes and safety devices.

if that is your email you have used as a forum name it may be an idea to change it. we are on a public forum and that means anyone can see and send you junk

as for the cooker i would trace the wires from the fan and see if it leads to a stat. if as you say the door open will bring it on then check the door switch

[yes it’s the email I use for forums]
Thanks – the wiring is complex. The wiring between switch and fan goes via several components and there is more than one thermostat. I cannot see a door switch so I am thinking: when i have the door open to clean I also have the light on. From memory there is what looks like a stat in each lamp unit, so it could be that heating up that puts the fan on while I’m cleaning, and that at least is accessible and so will test that first to see if it is open.

if it was me i would find any stats and try disconnecting one wire to see if it stops
if it does and nothing else does then you have found it
