Neff U1421 Oven

Hi.

The main oven door on our Neff U1421 is no longer closing properly. This seems to be gradually getting worse over time. Initially it just looked a few mm open, but now it’s almost 2cm.

I suspect the springs are no longer strong enough to keep the door closed.

I don’t believe it’s the mounts as when open the door is still horizontal, and I’m not aware of the door having ever been over stressed when opened. And there’s no sign of distortion on the oven door or frame.

Is it likely that these hinges have weakend to the extent that they are causing this problem? They look easy to replace, in fact I did remove them to inspect them, but can’t see any adjustment so just had to re-assemble the door.

I see from other threads, where the door has been sat on for example, the mounts may need replacing. I don’t think this is the case here, but if they do need to be replaced it looks like a much more difficult job.

The oven is almost 4 years old by the way.

In order to assist you further, we would require the full model number ie U1421…. This can be found around the main oven opening when door is open, usually on a metal plate.

I would imagine that the hinges spring tension has gone and as you rightly said , there are no adjustments.

Parts you will need

Left hand Hinge (looking straight at door on oven) – 260797
Right hand hinge (looking straight at door on oven) – 260798
Both available from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk and cost app £10 each + costs

Hi again. Just thought I’d confirm that this is all sorted.

Orded the hinges as you suggested and they arrived today. I fitted them in a few minutes, and the door closes perfectly. Result.
