Am new here so apologies if I am repeating a previous topic that I couldn’t see through search.
We have a 6 YO (or thereabouts) NEFF U1461 Double Oven – recently the fan oven setting stopped working – we called out an engineer and he said that it was likely that the thermostat had gone. However owing to corrosion he was unable to remove the back plate of the oven to get to the part and therefore the oven was not repairable. This he said was a common fault with NEFF ovens and that our only recourse is to buy a new oven.
In the process of trying to remove the back screws he managed to release 3 of 8 and seems to have stripped the remaining 5 back so they are domed.
So a few questions
1. Is this a common fault with the NEFF ovens
2. Any bright ideas for removing the screws? I have screw cutters that I have used to remove door screws but I am not sure there is enough surface area to allow for a decent grip to be made.
3. If I contact NEFF are they more likely to be able to resolve this?
Any assistance/thoughts/ideas would be gratefully received.
