NEFF: U1661NOGB/02 FD 8201 Oven Door not shutting tight

Hi, we have a Neff double oven, and recently we have noticed a problem that the main oven door is not closing very tightly, heat is being lost at the top and the oven above gets moisture condensing on the front. This implies the oven door seal is leaking, and not very effective ? Is it possible to replace the seal and is the seal magnetic so it holds the door shut or are there other reasons for the door not sealing as tightly as it did ?

Sounds very like a problem with the hinges and/or hinge receivers.

Is there any way to identify whether it is the hinges themselves or the receiver ? The neff parts drawings implied the hinge sits inside the oven door itself, and the hinge receiver is inside the body of the oven ?

The hinges hold the door closed against the seal.

If the seal’s dodgy, it’ll leak condensation especially when cooing foods with a high moisture content, which is most stuff.

Ditto if the hinges don’t pull the door closed correctly.

The runners are a possible for sure, but you would expect to find the door out of alignment albeit slightly if they were faulty and nothing else.

So in order I’d be looking at the seal, then hinges, then runners.

The hinges inside the door usually suffer the most wear meaning the door doesn’t quite shut against the seal at the top. The pivot pins wear within the hinge assembly meaning you need to replace both hinges. Only in extreme cases do the receivers need replacing as well.

I can see the door isn’t quite closing properly, I can push it closed another mm or so before the seal is tight against the door. Sounds like a pair of hinges is required !

Hi,
I sent an mail to the spares email about the hinge part numbers but it was rejected as my isp is on a blacklist I think. So I’m asking via this post instead.
Regarding https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/267845-oven-door-hinge referred to above.
I did a check on the Neff spares parts site oven diagrams and the hinges seem to be handed (00267845, 00481568)
Is the hinge shown on your site correct and suitable for both right and left hand hinge locations ?
