❓ Hi, I’m having another go at this problem before I give up on the oven altogether.
The basic problem is the lower oven is not heating very well. In fan mode the max temp is supposed to be 190C, but only achieves 170C, and in normal convection oven mode, when set to the max of 270C, it gets to about 220C…..My wife is getting very upset nothing is cooking correctly !
I used one of those oven thermometers to check.
I have been advised that the thermistor could be at fault, but it’s an odd fault mode, or maybe one of the two elements is not working very well or at all ?
Is there anything I can do to check, or measure before buying a replacement part ?

fan mode convection oven or fan mode fan oven ?
not sure if oven has both but some do and both modes use different elements

According to the breakdown on the Neff spares website, this model has an element around the fan, and one underneath the floor of the oven. I suspect maybe one has stopped working as it seems much worse recently.

in true fan mode it only uses 1 element the one around the fan
in convection mode it uses top and bottom elements and some units allow the fan to operate in this mode also giving a fan assisted convection mode
The main thing with the thermostat is the red light that tell you when the temp you have set is reached. if the light goes out then it is impossible for the oven to gain temp. if the light is still lit then power is still applied to the elements and an element failure is likely
also looked for owners manual on Neff site to show me your controls but none available

The lower oven control has a fan mode position with max temp of 190C, or a convection oven position, where the max temperature is 270C. I haven”t found an indicator that the oven has reached the set temperture, which would help check if the thermostat was working or not.
