A while ago I replaced the element on my Neff U1721 oven, but apparently it wasn’t the answer (or not the whole answer) because the oven still only heats up to 100 C when the switch is turned to 200 C, and it takes a good 25 minutes to get there too. The top oven works, and so does the fan. Is it the thermostat and is a DIY repair possible?

    Thanks for any tips 😉

are you 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure that the fan inside the main oven is working because that would cause exactly this problem and out of curiosity what was the original problem ?

    Thanks for the swift response.

Yes – the fan is definitely working.

After my first post above, I left the oven on and double checked the oven thermometer again after about 50 minutes or so (even an hour), and found that by then the temperature had risen to 150. I also found that this temperature reading was consistent with the temperature knob when turned down, which emitted the magic “click” at that temperature (and the light went out then as well).

The original problem was the same (except that then I lost patience at 15 minutes and 75 degrees – on top whack).

To make sense of it, I’ve now done a test on the top oven as well. That heats to 200 in about 15 minutes (though even in this case the oven temperature appears to be overstated by the switch/thermostat by about 20 degrees).
