Hi, We’ve had one of these cookers for a couple of years now and have never been able to figure out the selfcleaning, we’ve always done it manual. Do all these models have self-cleaning? We have a little handbook with no mention of self cleaning yet the recipe book also provided does mention it with instructions to switch the oven to conventional cooking @ 250 for an hour, the problem being our main oven is Circotherm only and does not have a conventional option.
The salesman did say it was self cleaning but then again it was MFI!

    Really appreciate any help,

    Darren.

    Hi dazl,

I’m not familiar with the model but assuming that it’s not a pyrolitic oven then yes, top temp for a while will burn of most of the grease and fat from the catalytic liners that the shelves sit on. The rest of the oven needs cleaned as usual.

Normally you can take out the catalytic liners by means of a thumbscrew or something like that to let you clean the rest of the oven with good old Mr Muscle and elbow grease. Whatever you do though, don’t get anything on those liners or they will be ruined and, once you do get chemicals on them, there’s no way back.

    K.
