The main switch (8 positions) on the above cooker appears to be malfunctioning, all options will not work.

On the first two (or indeed any) options the maximum temperature allowed is 200deg C.

Any input regarding a fix would be appreciated.

The hot air (fan) setting will go no higher than 200*C – its setting range is 40*c to 200*c so if it will set to 200*c and no more , then its working fine.It should tell you all the ranges….and they do differ…in your instruction manual

Yes, thanks nomadPaul, just confirmed that with my daughter (who is still looking for the IM).

It seems we can only select the fan oven so can only cook up to 200degC! Other positions of the switch do not work/light up so no selections or temperature higher than 200!

All points to the switch to me, but I am no expert like some of our viewers.

    Many thanks for your input.

    Hi

200 degrees is the highest setting most fan ovens go to. With a fan oven you cook at a lower temperature and for less time than a conventional oven, cooking with a fan oven is cheaper ie:-less heat less time = less money spent on cooking.

Switch now replaced and all eight positions of the control are available.

    Everything functioning well now.

    Yet another result.
