Neff V4380XOGB/13 overheating?

Hi everyone..
I appologise firstly if I am posting in the wrong section as Im in a bit of a rush. Came back from holiday to find water on floor pulled out machine took lid off, ran machine no internal leaks. Hose had worked loose on back, problem solved. Whilst machine was out I decided to disconnect hoses from solenoids/quad valve so I could clean filler container/tray as it was scummy.
All put back, left running to test, done 5 washes no problem. Wife decided to dry some clothes and with the lid put back on there was a smell coming from the machine after a few minutes.
The top of the machine was very hot so I unpluged, took lid of again and it looks like the dryer has overheated. I noticed there are two sensors (temperature and cut maybe) that I could see. could these be the likely cause of the problem. I have had the door open running the dryer and motor blows out hot air as one would expect but it seems to be over heating. Air intake at the soap tray sucks aswell. Any thoughts very welcome.. My wifes is not a happy bunny. I am a nic registered electrican if anybody says I am mad for fiddling. Thanks in advance for ur help. regards daz.

Well I was surprised that no body could help me here. Fortunately I was able to rely on my own experiance and get a few key answers from another site. For anybody who owns this model and has a similar fault. (Overheating of dryer). Check the following. Test the coils/valves at rear of machine across the two terminals, ease the plugs off first. They should read about 3.6kohm. Clean out the condesor chamber it could be blocked and resricting airflow to the heater element Therefore running too hot. Also check dryer motor is up to speed and blowing like a hurricane,If not element could overheat. I did this test with the door open and fooling the switch with a screwdriver. I did a complete overhaul of my machine and stripped it down to the barebones for piece of mind. Had to take the front of this baby off to get to the condensor chamber which involved pulling the drum rubber off. Once it had got this involved I went crazy and inspected everything. Everything is working fine and after extensive testing the gremlin is a faulty thermistor which I am fitting in the next few days. Hope this eventually helps someone.

Sorry but I must of missed something. I have been looking at this page every day since my machine went on the blink and I haven’t seen a single post. Am I looking in the wrong place? Where is the post? At the very least I can thank the helper for replying. I keep refreshing the page and nothing appears. Does the reply time out.

This post from Don was basically asking you to give us a manufacturer, hence the question mark. 😉

Most of the trade members who do take time to answer in the public forums have at some time in the past worked for one or other of the major manufacturers. I myself worked for Hotpoint and had you posted ‘my 18580 is giving problems’ I would have known exactly which machine you were referring to but it may not have been recognised by a lot of the other members. v4380 means nothing to me at all and Don was trying to guess which type of machine you had.
Some manufacturers even use very similar model numbers, BEKO and Hotpoint both have WMA models, there are several WM models from different companies, so we need as much information as is possible. 8)

E-Nr V4380XOGB/13 FD 8110 00904 :rolls: Any comments appreciated. Anyway I still cant see dons post apart from what you have copied and pasted into your reply. I must be looking at the wrong page. Is it because my post was moved and dons reply is in the original section I posted in.
