ParticipantHi, Went to look at this today tenant in the property complained that the dryer is not working.
Put the dryer on and it got warm in the drum so thought the problem must be with condenser side of it.
I pulled the hose off from the valve to the condenser assy and no water came through. Valves checked out ok.
At this point I tried it on a different dryer setting D3 acrylics and the water started to come through straight away.
So long story short if you set it on D1 cottons or D2 easy care no water comes through to the condenser, if you set it on D3 acrylics the water comes through straight away.
Cheers,

I would imagine what you have worked out with the valves is normal.
Did you check for blockages in the condenser / hose?
As soon as I read ‘Tenant’ I did think user error. Are you sure the tenant is using it correctly? The tenant is probably only putting it on for 20 minutes. 😉

Thanks for that. I have just spoken to the tenant and he has told me that the clothes come out wet and warm at the end. He has been in the property for 7 years so does know how to use it.
Are you saying that it is normal for there to be no water through the valves to the condensor on those settings? If so how does the condensor work?
I didnt check the hose, does the front come off to gain access to the condensor/hose
Thanks for your help

OK…..Only 2 problems to check out here that will give the same fault..
1) Duff (or intermittent dryer valve)…coil looks slightly different colour to the other 3….Cure = Replace valve.
2) Condenser blocked with fluff…Cure = remove bottom hose from condenser and poke a bit of coathanger wire into the condenser to scrape it clean again!
Sorted! 😀

Or intermittent drain pump failure.
Or partial blockage in drain system.
(Wet & Warm) Is that more wet than at the end of the spin?

I dont know. I asked him what was happening and he said the clothes were just wet at the end but he then said that they were a bit warm.
How do you get to the bottom hose of the condensor does the front have to come off?
He did say that he uses the dryer alot so it could just be that its blocked up.
Cheers

I went back to this one and checked the condenser to see if it was blocked.
The hose and condenser assy are all spotless.
Should this machine do a 5-10min cool down at the end of the dry cycle?
The water valve is working fine I can hear it spurting water through every few seconds.
Also the pump seems to be working fine.
Cheers
