Hiya,
I have an old Neff W5320X0GB that recently started going back to “Ready” and after much experimentation I’ve found a temporary work-around and would like to ask if anyone can identify the likely cause?
The fault:
When the machine runs it does something the there’s a click as it (I guess) goes to next step in cycle.
Sometimes at the click it sometimes simply stops and the “Ready” light comes back on (i.e. as if the cycle had never been started).
The synthetic washes are better behaved than the cottons and the separate rinse and spin functions seem to work just fine.
(The least reliable programmes are the most used – wear & tear maybe?).
The workaround:
Pressing the “Start” button resumes apparently from where the machine stopped. Continuously pressing the “Start” button results in the machine working just fine.
I’m guessing this could be a loose connection or a timer issue?
Could anyone narrow down the likely fault(s) a bit more?
Also, we have a spare washing machine but it is standalone, not integrated like our Neff.
In general, is it possible (and advisable) to fit a standalone machine in to an integrated space (presumably by removing the outer cladding and fitting a “naked” machine)?
Other than this the machine works really well and if we can squeeze another few years out of it for a few quid I’d be happy to pay for repairs.
Many thanks in advance for your time and trouble, it’s most appreciated.
