ParticipantHi,
Another week another strange fault.
I’ve just been out to this washer and its acting strange. Its not spinning, you set the dial to spin position, press start and it pumps for about 1 minute (counter show 12 minutes), then the pump goes dead and you hear a relay click and nothing happens. It just keeps counting down on the timer.
The Higher water level indicator always lights up when this happens.
I can cancel the programme, not in the usual manner of selecting number 1 (selector) on the dial, but having to switch the machine off and back on with the dial in the new position, but the only other programme it does seems to be a rinse as the counter shows 19 minutes. It doesnt matter what other programmes you put it on, it will only do either a rinse or a spin. Higher water level always comes back on. I dont know if this is a fault code of some kind but i’ve never had this fault before. If anybody could give me any help it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Nick

Sounds as though the ‘reset’ part is not working first of all. If I recall to reset these you need to set the selector to the only unmarked position on the dial then press start. That should then clear the last programme which in this case is a rinse & spin on high level setting I guess?
The pump running for one minute and then the relay clicking indicates to me that it wants to fill (start of rinse sequence and all that!) so maybe the inlet valve needs a gander at???

Hi,
Yes the reset isnt working. The selector position is the position you reset it on which is what i’ve been trying. It does fill on the rinse position (19 minutes) but when you put it on spin (13 minutes) it just pumps and stops. I cant see it being a valve because it shouldnt be filling on the 12-13 minute position as far as i know.
I’m pretty sure its the programmer but i was just a little curious about the high fill level indicator lighting up, thinking it could be a fault code. Thanks for your help.
Regards
Nick

It could be a fault code Nick if it were flashing?
You’d best give Neff Technical a ring in the morning to see if they know any more on it : 0870 2426660 😉

Hi
It doesnt use the high water level lamp as a fault indicator.
Spin,Prewash, wash and rinsing lamps in diff permations in conjunction with 7 seg display will give you the fault code.
Have you had a look at the main pcb underneath for dry joints?Greg
