ParticipantThe sump hose in my Neff washing machine (W5420X1GB) has split and is leaking. Ordered a new part, but I’ve no idea how you are meant to get access to the hose to replace. I assumed I would be able to remove the base of the machine, but that doesn’t seem possible. I’ve removed the front but it doesn’t seem to give me any more leverage when trying to replace the hose.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Ben

Moderatoryour Enr number is incorrect plus 2 digits missing off the end
need above to see what machine you have but most bosch sump hoses can be changed once you get the front off. Dont know what you mean by leaverage as the hose drops off easily by hand once you remove the clips

ParticipantHey Dave, Its this appliance https://www.neff-home.com/uk/productlist/W5420X1GB
Once the access panel is off from the front you can get a hand to the hose, but I’ve been unable to get the hose off as the space is so limited. Do you need to remove the whole front of the machine, or is it just a case or perseverance using the small panel? Videos I’ve watched have machines where you take off the bottom and there is loads of space for access, but this doesn’t seem possible with this machine.
Thanks
Ben

ParticipantAs Electrofix said, there’s 2 digits missing off the model no. There’s and / (obliqute stroke) then 2 number. Either 45, 54 57 or 58.
Again as Electrofix said, easily done once the front is off.It looks similar to one I worked on recently. IIRC you have to have it out to take the top off the access the screws for the front facia so you can get the front off.
If that’s the case, you might want to try from the back. Please power off!!. Check and double check. Unplug it, don’t just turn it off. Also, if it has a pcb at the bottom front inside, don’t wreck it when you take the hose off. Use the drain down hose to empty the sump!! Oh and have lots of plasters handy because every panel edge is like a razor blade 🙂 Good luckMay 13, 2020 at 12:15 pm #468658electrofix
Moderatorlooked up one at random from your link and that hose should not be a problem and you should be able to do it from the front
I agree with rocketman over the power and water issue. take the filter out first and squeeze the hose to get all the water out before removal. A lot of these hoses are held on with a wire clip that has a torx 20 screw so you will need the correct driver
there is normally a tab or slot to be sure the orientation is correct so make sure its pointing in the correct way otherwise it may kink. when you have tightened the clip give it a good tug to make sure it wont fall offlay an old towel over any sharp metal edges for safety

ParticipantThanks to you both for your comments, I’ll try this again tonight from the front and see where I get.

ParticipantThanks again for your help, I managed to replace the sump hose by removing just the front in the end.
