I got this Neue 34901154 built in fridge/ freezer just over a year ago and it has just started to ice up inside the fridge and the compressor is running almost constantly, where as before it would run occasionally. Diangnostic made me suspect a temperature sensor, but this model does not have one.
Its the frost free model , so next was to see if the condensor was iced up and not kicking in the defrost cycle. I stripped out the back plate on the freezer and checked, but it was all looking good. No ice or any problem with the freezer condensor, it was just running constantly. Inside the freezer there was only two sensors on the device, a defost sensor with thermal fuse, and a thermal protector. I tested them with the multimeter and they were both good.
As there are no other sensors, thermisters or temerature probes in the parts diagram or visible, I presumed it must be a control board fault. So I replaced the main pcb to see if it cured the iced up fridge problem. It did not, so I returned the new pcb as it was not needed!
There is a one other control board by the compressor (relay switches) and a small board that sets the mode (min to max). Ive tryed it on all settings but none make a difference. The compressor also does turn off sometimes, so pressume the relays must be working just not getting instruction to turn off.
How does this fridge freezer work and control temperature. What tells the compressor to turn on and off like it used too when it was working properly?
Any help is much appreciated . .
