I’ve been looking for a new appliance supplier to compliment our current suppliers BDC. Especially since, due to the WEEE regs, the price of their refrigeration has shot up 🙁

After a quick forum search the names Portway and D.A.D look like the most promising. I was wondering what is your experience of these 2 suppliers. Specifically how are they with the return of faulty and damaged stock. The main plus point with BDC is that we have no hassle in getting credit, or replacements, for appliances that are damaged or faulty.

Your views would be much appreciated 🙂

    Hi Apex

We have used DAD for the last ten years at least. I have to say returns are not an issue If it arrives damaged (not had this happen in years 😉 ) we just refuse it, if it`s damaged upon unpacking we usually request a damage allowance or the manufacturers are asked to rectify. If machine has to be exchanged once customer has taken delivery and it has been used, then as long as the manufacturers engineer has visited and left report to say unrepairable or whatever, DAD will uplift and credit no probs.

You will get a much better buying rate as well compared to BDC .

As for the WEEE directive, prices will increase as from 1st July across the board.
