KeymasterI have approached a couple of the letting agents associations and the FSB to see if they have any use for UKW.
I’ll see if I even get a response. 😕

KeymasterRe: New Approaches
For the benefit of all of us who can read this forum…..
I think we have to control all and any approach to UKW through the Moderators and general membership. It does seem that moderators are being asked questions/enquiries and whilst these guys are spot on and in my opinion do a great job, we should not allow them to speak for UKW without the Board being informed and the reply formulated. I have no issue with the messenger or indeed of their continued involvement in the line of enquiry.
UKW is now a limited company and as such we need to commercially consider the implications of approaches, to the benefit of shareholders and our general membership. It goes without saying that when we put the shares up for sale that our potential investors will expect the board to run a tight ship and to protect their investment.
Therefore we need to introduce a policy to all shareholders, subscribers and membership that spells out the proceedure without putting anyones nose out of joint. I think we need this for the meeting too, so not a lot of time to conclude this one.regards

KeymasterRe: New Approaches
I agree wholeheartedly but it may well be, to a large part, down to me to make that a bit clearer on the site and it will become clearer in time.
What I think we should do the first time that this goes into something tangible like a magazine article is to respectfully ask that any media enquiries are directed to site admin to handle. That way we have an excuse to basically do that, either that or I’ll dream up somehing for the Moderator forum later, which I may do anyway. In all fairness Chris and Martin should probably be made aware of what may well happen anyway to some degree as they may well have to deal with some of it or additional stuff due to it.
I don’t honestly think that anyone else will be asked for such information as it’s mostly all our names that are highlighted on the site being the high profile people we’re far more liable to have anything directed towards us anyways.
But we will have to have a “Press Release” section at some point as well I guess, especially if the Engineer’s Opinion takes off as that’s the one thing that will get attention.

KeymasterWhilst you have allowed me into the boardroom, for which I feel very privelidged, I would personally not feel it my position to answer on behalf of UKW I feel that any answer should come from the three of you.

KeymasterOkay, that’s done in the moderator forum, hopefully that should sort that out without any ill will. Very interesting that Chris has had experience with the media though and that experience could well do us all a favour, so I’m glad we found that out now.
Jason, I know, I think most people would at least consult one of us before doing anything rash as we often do using IRC or the phone, but it’s probably best to kinda spell it out. In the end this is all about working together and I have no issue ith delegation and others doing stuff like that, so long as we’re all singing the same tune. What I don’t want is a fiasco like the DASA/NESN thing that’s obviously going off, where the select few have the knowledge of what’s going off and no other bugger has a clue! As you can see from the “NESN in Spin Mode” thread that has led to bad press for both, not just one. That’s what happens when the people that should know, don’t.
