ParticipantHi, I found this Beko fridge dead and the light inside fridge cavity flashing every few seconds. I tested both defrost heaters and ok and both sensors which had continuity. I then found a pcb at the top back instead of defrost timer down below. I ordered the pcb and fitted it. I am only getting 12v to compressor? It feels like the new pcb is faulty and have phoned masterpart and they said even though its a stock item, it is non-returnable due to the fact that i might of damaged it on install. Considering I only unpacked this out of its bubble wrap and it only has 2 plugs on it, i’m sure i haven’t broke the board. Does anyone know if this sounds like a faulty board and is this common practice for curcuit boards to be non-returnable considering we are giving a years guarantee??? Any help on either subject would be lovely. many thanks

Yes, it is normal practice with boards so you would get the same response from the other suppliers. I’m stuck with a board that cost £110 for an electric shower that failed to cure the fault. All other components on the shower could be tested with the meter so I’m pretty sure the board is faulty but I was not going to fork out another £110 so I could not bill the customer for even a call-out. 🙁

KeymasterAgreed.
If it’s fitted then there’s no way to tell if it was faulty originally or if another problem caused the new one to pop so, no warranty and it’s all at your own risk.

this might be a loss leader, but have you checked the connections from the compressor into the cabinet via a plug connector!…i have had loads of dodgy connections in these connectors…this might be a complete waste of time, but i have had engineers change starters and compressors for the sake of a loose pin connector!….hope this might help…
on the upside how much did u pay for for the pcb?…beko parts are cheap as chips sold to us at serviceforce!
thanks chris
