So I have a hotpoint condenser, (TDWSF 83B EP), approx 6-7 years old? . It was making a load of grinding noises then stopped, opening it up looks like it was just the belt getting chewed up and snapped. No other noises with the motor or drum (seems reasonably free rotating, no grinding).
as I’m going to have to take the bearing off to get the belt on, is it worth replacing at the same time?! They seem to be a common issue longer term.
It’s a 608 2RS, which seems quite common, replacements a few quid (rather than official hotpoint part). Are the ‘upgraded’ skateboard ones worth getting at all?!
mother than that anything else worth doing whilst it’s apart? (Other than Vacuuming up any fluff)

its worth checking the bearing but your bearing is not the one that goes. chances are your dryer is a whirlpool design and not hotpoint

the hotpoint bearing that causes problems is linked below and you can see its not really up to the job
