New Bosch Dishwasher Install not draining

Hi All,

I recently installed my new Bosch integrated dishwasher. Upon first time run it it giving me the error code E:24 which is thebasin not draining. Having looked at the drain hose I have found this black section within the end of the hose.

From what I have read and seen can anyone say what this is?
I think it is either a one way valve to prevent water back flow or a blanking bung? (Attempted to attach images but have exceeded my upload quota having not posted anything???)

Remove it and try again.
Sounds like a bung there to stop things going down.

Yes it is and has been removed thank you! No mention of that in the instructions!!! Just didn’t have the confident to start poking and pulling about!

It doesn’t come in the drain hose, it comes in the spigot that the drain hose attaches to. I’m guessing you had a new drain fitted to your sink

It all makes sense now, yes it was a new spigot fitting put on by house builders, feel rather stupid! 😛
