It seems as though bosch has somewhat recently released new WGG series machines such as this: https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/product…s/WGG04409GB#/

All of these new WGG series machines have an energy efficiency rating of A except for the 10kg. Does anyone know whether these have a splitable drum and whether the bearings and spider can be replaced easily? The model that i linked uses 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} less electricity and 4 litres more water than the older WAN model. Does anyone know what bosch and other manufacturers are doing to improve the energy efficiency? Increasing the water consumption by 4 litres helps but it isn’t going to give a 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} improvement, i’d love to know how they are achieving this.

bosch has some new entry level machines such as this 7kg 1400rpm: WAJ28001GB

This has a B energy rating, the previous entry level model had a D rating.

The energy rules on labelling was changed about a year ago supposedly to encourage manufacturers to continue to strive for the coveted A rating.

beware entry level means cost cut to the bone to get the price down and that includes cheaper working parts

i thought that all bosch models had the same quality, just different functionality? the entry level model costs £419

    ok think about it

the machine will cost you £419 out of that you are paying £100 vat so your actually paying £319 for the machine

out of that the retailer has to make a profit, its got to be transported half way round the world. Bosch to have the money to build and maintain a factory to design and build it. they have to pay employees to make it. they have to have money put aside for research and development. that have to make a profit to pay sharholders
how much is left to actually buy the raw materials to make it ?

This machine has a sealed tub in common with a lot of machines, this means any problems in the tub and its scrap. On the plus side the door does seem to show seperate components which means you dont have to buy a complete door if you snap the hinge

to also be fair this is not entry level as its a series 4 machine, The series 2 are lower. if you want to look at another series 4 unit look at the WAN range which has a splittable tub if that interests you

    this might also interest you
