ParticipantHi All,
Just after any advice, we are looking for a new Electric oven for our kitchen to replace a terrible single whirlpool oven that we currently have.
Requirements:
Double Oven
Stainless steel or Black
Good quality
British? or German?
We have budget up to £800, maybe more for the right oven.
Something in line we our Meile washing machine would be good.
Been looking at Belling oven for starters. BI 70 FP ST model, but heard not all belling built in Britain? How do you tell if they are or not?
Any advice on possible best buys would be good.
Cheers

bi70’s are assembled in britain, but componentry is all over the world.
not to slag off the brits but bellings are now overpriced. id get a slovakian gorenje with a long warranty
dont know how reliable new neff and bosch are but been having issues with last 6 years worht of bsh b/u gear with half moon elements, whihc has affected other engineers on here too.
graded h/p built under seems to be fairly well appreciated by our customers on a budget, or miele if you go top end, but be prepared to pay miele servicing prices. not cheap…
other than that go to twin single ovens – more main oven space for a start, and a working back up if one fails…

The newer style Neff/Bosch double built under ovens now have a decent circular element in them , not the old half moon

SMEG = mega £££££’s to fix if out of warranty, spares can be a nightmare as can be tech info, IMHO very over priced for what they are.
Most built under double ovens will be made abroad, the De Dietrich or Fagor brands are very nice ovens, reasonable spare parts costs and tech info no problem, De Dietrich comes with 2 year warranty and Fagor 1 year, links to websites below

smeg cooking stuff tended to have piddlepoor quality components too, not sure if new range of cooking kit is now gorenje based tho ???
select de dietrich and fagor kit also comes with 5yr p&l warranties depending where its sourced from
atill think graded hp built under is good vfm, but then saying that i dont actually like any b/u d/o
