The guys pass on all the members details to the company. Essentially, put your name in the hat as it were.

It’s then down to the company to make contact if required, if they want to, if they have a need to and the WTA can’t really do a lot about that part I expect.

Re: New Contract work ~ Minerva Services

OK lets deal with both of the above mention points ~ Minerva Services are an underwriting company that takes on the responsibility of covering warranties for manufacturers that import products into the UK. ie Manufacturer pays them so much for each appliance and they cover the cost of repairs within the warranty period. In this case they have taken on responsibility of spares supply and labour payments directly. This is very popular with the smaller appliance manufactures as it saves them having to set up their own service network. Many of you will already be getting paid by them but through a third part service provider.

WTA Engineer Lists ~ let me try an explain this to flesh out what Ken has mentioned above. All members of the WTA are listed on our engineer list, this gives their company name, contact number and address, the postcodes they cover and their skillsets. This list is given to companies once a national payment plan has been negotiated ie You agree to pay the engineers this much and then you can have the list. Once the list is handed over to the manufacturer/service provider/underwriter it becomes their service network and they can choose who they want. They usually pick the company with the best skillsets first and then put those with less skillsets as second or third choice. Or they may have a large distributor that has his own network and wants a seller service contract (DAD to name but one) The choice is theirs and has nothing to do with the WTA team. Basically, we open the door for you guys, its up to you to keep your foot in it by providing the service these guys want, if you don’t then they will pick someone else.

Updated 19th October 2015 – New Contract work ~ Minerva Serv

‘It is with great pleasure that I can announce that WTA members have been appointed by Minerva Services to carry out work on the Vestel manufactured range of products under the Sharp, Servis, AGA Rangemaster and Electriq brands

The start date is 2nd November 2015.

All spare parts will be supplied free of charge by Minerva and supported with full technical support.

In line with earlier agreements those that are already on the network have no need to do anything further, those that are new to the WTA should supply details of their postcode coverage, skill sets, contact email and telephone numbers which will be forwarded to Minerva for consideration.

Minerva will subsequently send out a service level agreement (SLA) which lays out payment rates, response times, dispute resolution and contact names and numbers together with other requests.

For all further information and to sign up if you are a new member please contact me (Ian Dales) email – Dales.Electronic@btopenworld.com

A quick update here ~ kindly remember that if you are not a WTA member your name WILL NOT be forwarded to Minerva for consideration. So if you have let your membership lapse you won’t be on the new listing until you rejoin. Just letting you know 🙂

We will upload all technical documents, parts lists, exploded views, and wiring diagrams etc. to our website http://www.minervaservice.co.uk for engineer access
We can also email you any documentation needed and we are here to give you full technical support

    Payment Rates and SLA’s
We have negotiated a payment rate of
    £60 for the Sharp jobs
This is based on a higher priority level for Sharp which is same day/next day attendance for the service call

The rate for the Servis, AGA/Rangemaster and Electriq brands etc. is
£50 for electric, no tub changes or bearing changes
    £65 for gas,
    £50 for refrigeration
    £25 sundries
The SLA is simply, contact the customer within one working day and attend within three days of this

We are working to achieve a high first time fix rate and parts will be sent overnight to you (if you do not hold stock) please retain any parts not used as stock

In any event if you attend a service call on our behalf you will be paid for this regardless of the issue even if it is customer error
All we ask is that the exact nature of the problem is recorded in your report along with a photo of the rating plate (confirming the serial number which is very important)

Please be honest if it is a blocked filter report a blocked filter, you will be paid for the job no quibble

    Job Management
We use the Mercury System from Hatchgate Software to manage jobs and can integrate with you if you have a similar system

Re: New Contract work ~ Minerva Services

All those that have put there details forward for contract work should now have had contact from Minerva.
Please be mindful that this is only the beginning of this partnership and that there is the potential for more work going forwards.

To that end can we please make every effort to make this work.
if you have any issues please contact Martin as above or as a second option contact myself or Ian Dales by PM.

Minerva have a refreshing perspective on how they want to do things such as paying you regardless of what you find the fault to be,and no bearings or tub jobs.

This is a golden opportunity and one that rarely comes round so its up to WTA members to show what working with independents can achieve.
