    Hi

I acquired the above dishwasher after it had been installed for a year and stored for a few months, but never actually used!

We are in the middle of changing our kitchen so it is just sitting out on its own at the moment. Set it up about two weeks ago (yes I read the manula!) all seemed fine. Today about 1hr ish into a 50deg cycle it started making quite a loud buzzing noise as if something was trying to turn but being prevented. Opened the door, all seemed to be normal inside, no arms jammed/blocked – (the top arm seemed stiff to turn by hand I don’t know if that is normal – my first dishwasher). Closed door, noise still there though apparently operating normally. Stopped with stop button, all pumped out fine. Inside is pristine having only been used a doz times.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Paul

The circulation motor on these is absolutely notorious. Have a read of THIS RTICLE.

    Thanks

Yes I saw that article, I only bought it as research showed it was a badged Whirlpool product, not the later lower quality items… A bit grim if it fails after a dozen uses!

Anyway, upon closer inspection it seemed that the filter was not properly engaged in position and so had let debri through into the arms, I cleaned everything out and a short program seems Ok. Will do a longer test later.

    cheers!
