ParticipantNot sure if this is the right place to post?
The Smeg has finally given up the ghost. Bit disappointed with the brand. It was very expensive and I thought it would go longer than 4 years. 🙁
Any recommendations for a new one please? Full size floor standing. Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Higher spec Bosch/Neff are as good as it gets below Miele machines.
Also worth having a look at the ISE dishwasher. 😉
Our resident, new appliance expert Don may be able to give you specific model numbers etc, what is your budget?
Jim.

Ish! Just another 100 squid for the really good stuff ❓ (ISE, BSH etc)
It’s a pitty that you’ve been burnt by the overpriced (IMHO) Smeg stuff. For some reason they have a rep. for quality.
Just avoid Merloni stuff and Chinese stuff is my opinion if you have to buy a cheap one.
Zanussi or Whirlpool are OK, unless Don has any objections?

Thanks for that Goatboy.
If the extra £100 really makes a difference.
I’ll consider both pricepoints. £300 and £400 ……..March 14, 2009 at 9:39 am #280044don

Bear in mind that the industry has just seen some of the biggest price increases in memory due to the falling pound against the Euro and the Dollar. What was circa £250 is now nearer £300 so the top pricepoint is where you are going to get the quality appliance. TheISE5 DW1 12 place AAA rated dishwasher loaded with features and a full five-year warranty is a cracking machine and well worth the budget.Don
