    Hi everyone

I need to get a new full size integrated dishwasher and am leaning towards the Bosch models, I was thinking to get the best one they do which looked like their series 8 model SMD8YCX03G.

What has confused me is I looked on the Which? website and they’ve reviewed a somewhat similar model SMD8YCX02G on Aug 22 and it got a low rating for cleaning performance, comments like: We found dirt on many of our items on the third wash of our cleaning test. There were also specks of food and stubborn smears on some of the items.

They have also reviewed a couple of Series 6 models which are best buys and come out on top, e.g. the SMV6ZCX01G at 87{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} rating and SMD6ZCX60G at 78{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}, although looks like they are 2021 models.

Any ideas of what could explain this? getting very confused which one to go for so advice would be appreciated 🙂

Which magazine do test appliances, however there are still many variables like soiling, loading and wash cycle selected. I always say to customers that it does give you a guide overall but it’s not definitive in any way.

When it comes to testing models they are usually a good 18 months behind as they also test other categories along the way.

Looking at the Bosch site here I personally would stop at series 6 unless you want all the bells and whistles, It’s a good all round range. You can compare models via the compare button which should help you make a decision.

Many thanks Don for your response, after a lot of comparing I think I’ve decided on the Series 8 model, primarily because its the only one that has the intensive zone setting, I had this previously at my old house and found it really improved the performance of the bottom rack.
My only concern from looking at the pictures here: SMD8YCX03G Fully-integrated dishwasher | BOSCH GB (bosch-home.co.uk) is that its got touch buttons with a small screen in the middle, in your experience is this kind of setup reliable? just want to check that that these kind of controls or the screen are not known to fail a lot, it has a 5 year warranty but hoping to get at least 8 years out of it ideally given the price of it.. 🙂

We have an almost 10 year old freestanding SMS69L222 which by looks of it has a similar size display. It’s never given any trouble, as you say with a five year warranty you should be okay.

I just want to mention one thing about the models your looking at go with the zeolite model as you will have improved drying as regards cleaning as mentioned the heat pumps are the same on series 6 and series 8 so stick with the series 6 as the 8 you are paying more for as Don has said and make sure you set up the home connect on the appliance as it will do automatic updates

Thank you, unfortunately the series 6 ones dont have the intensive zone feature which I wanted so will have to go for the SMD8YCX03G series 8 model 🙂
