ParticipantHi all,
Our JL Fridgefreezer is a bit worse for wear now so started looking for a replacement. Was looking aprox £900ish and Samsung seemed to have a few good models along with Seimens. I also spotted this Miele KFN 29243 ED/CS Fridge Freezer from John Lewis, seems to be a good deal has anyone got any experience with this particular model or model range? I believe Miele are made in the same factory as liebherr and at the rrp it is not a cheap model. Miele have it for £1399 seems it is generally on sale between £1100-£1300 however John Lewis have price matched it so reduced the price to £939 and then Miele are offering £150 cash back bring it down to £789 which to me seems to be an excellent deal and well within my budget! Anyone have any thoughts or experience please?
Thanks
Justin

Hi
Miele or Liebherr they are the same other than cosmetic. Miele come off the same production line and use the same components.
They would be my choice to buy.

Oh good God yes, Liebherr is light years better than Samsung!
Or most others.

Thanks Kwatt, now that was an emphatic answer. Had a feeling that would be the case. Will show the Miele to my wife and hopefully get ordering, thanks for both of yours advice.

Ditch the Miele badge and just buy the same machine under the Liebherr brand name.
Cheaper, just as good given it’s the same thing and trust me on this, when it comes to the point where you need spare parts or help with almost anything you’ll thank me and Bryan for the advice.
After having to tell a customer it’d cost them £134 for a door handle on a Miele branded one a few days ago should illustrate the point. The Liebherr one was a repair kit for £20 odds or a full handle for £60.

After browsing around on here I was actually going to ask whether Miele fridge-freezers are worth the expense.
I have a Miele washing machine and I understand the specific advantages of those (built like tanks, fully servicable etc) as they’re very ‘mechanical’ things which obviously wear over time so build quality is important.
With fridge-freezers though there’s nowhere near as much ‘going on’ and I’d have thought they’re all pretty much the same underneath. If the likes of Miele or Liebherr are worth the extra, what exactly is your money buying?
Also, FWIW, my parents had a large Liebherr fridge-freezer and had no end of problems with it. Ended up ditching it for a Fisher & Paykel in the end.

Well, the Miele is a Liebherr and they really do not give trouble normally. Very rarely in fact.
