New fridge freezer – Siemens KA58NA40GB?

Our Leibherr fridge broke 2 weeks ago and is too expensive to repair so we am looking for a replacement. However my partner and I have differing views on what we should buy and keep going round in circles and would appreciate some advice.

We both agree that we want a fridge freezer at least 70cm width however he wants an American style fridge freezer with ice maker whereas I am not so bothered and would rather get something reliable. The budget is up to £1000 and stainless steel is not vital. We have considered the following:

American style
Samsung RSA1DHMH – good price and external looks but rejected on reliability. £499

LG GWL227YSAA – again not sure about long term reliability of this brand £899

Maytag MAL2028GBB/GBS – I keep hearing good things about this in terms of reliability however I feel the inside looks a bit plasticy. £899

Siemens KG58NA40GB – top of the list at the moment. We like the layout and high quality inside but not as reliable as Maytag? It only has a 2 year guarantee £925

Non-American
Siemens KG49NA90GB – I really like this one but my partner is not so keen as it is a bit boring for him. A big plus is the 5 year guarantee £888

MIELE KF8582 SDED – again reliable with 5 year guarantee £898

Please help. We would appreciate any advice that makes our decision easier as we are getting very fat living off takeaways at the moment!

Out of the machines you list I would personally leave the Samsung and the LG alone as the other brands are far superior in build, reliability and service back up.

As for the rest on your shopping list, it all depends on whether or not side by side is for you. If it is then the Maytag would be my choice, in the non American then it has to be the Siemens KG49N especially with it`s 5 year warranty.
