ParticipantHi All
I’ve been wondering, with all the spare parts available for ‘white goods’, why it doesn’t seem possible to buy new replacement front panels…or is it?
What got me thinking about it in the first place was when, the other day, the girlfriend tipped the upright vacuum over by stretching the hose too far…right into the Hotpoint FFA52. Previously unmarked, it now has a dent and deep scratch on the front panel of the freezer section. Thanks, girlfriend…it’s not something I’ve managed to do in the last 5 and a half years!!
A quick google search has thrown up zilch.
Why do manufacturers not seem to sell these panels, as females and kids seem intent on scratching and denting them (just look on Ebay for second-hand appliances and try to find anything in immaculate condition!)
I happen to take pride in the things I own, whether it’s a car or a fridge, but I often think I may be alone! Is it just an outdated concept?May 21, 2015 at 9:55 pm #427511simon26r

Hi. I can get a panel. Depends on what one you want but you can get them. Not many people will waste the time to list them on ebay as they only want to list the easy things like elements / pumps ect as they go wrong more and not may people want to spend money on a scratch or a dent.

Hi
Our own shop will be able to supply a freezer door. Email Dave spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk to get started.
Don’t forget the all important model number in full as this model comes in white (P), silver (S) and black (K) along with the serial number which can be found on the left hand fridge wall.

Hi
Have deleted the new thread but saved the following 😉 it’s much easier to respond to one thread and also keeps the forums tidy.

So…it’s a front panel for a FFA52 fridge/freezer in silver please.
See my previous post for obtaining new doors.

Simon,
Thanks for the reply to my post.
Could you tell me if you could get a panel, and if so, please give me a price on the front panel of the lower door (freezer section)?
The model is Hotpoint FFA 52S (silver).

For your convenience please see the link below but beware, it is pricey so your girlfriend might want to contribute. 😉

I did, but I saw £87 for the door and thought ‘well, I don’t need the whole door, I just want the front panel’!
However, I’m assuming now that I would have to buy the whole door, even though the front panel does look to be detachable from the rest somehow.Anyway, if that’s my only option I think we can safely forget the idea!
I’d rather go out and buy a new Beko than spend that sort of money on a door for a 5 year old Hotpoint which I could put on Ebay and easily get £80 for as it is (to someone less fussy than myself!). It makes you wonder why anyone would pay that! Thanks for sending the link anyway 🙂
