Anyone come across the new Hotpoint door seal bands? Is there a tool for these nasty pieces of work? Long, Long, nose pliers work but they feel like they will break.
and of course we have to ask WHAT THE HECK WAS WRONG WITH THE OLD ONES? :haier:

Do you mean the band holding the seal to the drum, or the one securing it to the cabinet front?

Both, they are now both fitted with the same style band, only the size differs.

Not seen any of the zipper type bands on the drum to seal fitting, don’t find the one on the seal to cabinet front a problem, much better than the plastic fastener. normal long nosed pliers work fine on the outer one. Not sure if if that would be tight enough for the inner one though. 😥

I’ve not been impressed with any of the devices used on the front of Hotpoint door seals although none are as bad as the whirlpool wire which I find a nightmare to put back on. I don’t know why they cant all use the Zanussi type plastic ratchet rings which are a doddle to get on and off. Obviously the Zanussi inside spring retainer is another matter entirely 👿

What about the outer wire on the old Creda machines, as thick as your arm, both ends hooked under a plate under the latchplate. Think I only ever managed to get one of those back on.
