    Hi Folks,

Just fitted a new indesit dif16a and it’s leaking both water and steam at the top of the door.

Seems like the door doesn’t shut tight but I can’t see any reason why not, door seal isn’t kinked or damaged. It’s perfectly level and screwed to the underside of the work top.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

These machines are made of cardboard, or at least metal that is as weak as cardboard. :rolls:

It suggests that it may have been twisted in some way during fitting.

Make sure the baskets are fully back in position, check for bits of polystyrene packinging stuck at the back of the baskets etc.

Remove the decor panel and see if the door closes correctly.

    Hi

Just a thought, have you fitted the anti condensation strip that the Hotpoint and Indesit integrated machines come with?

Yes fitted the sticky back plastic to the underside of the worktop. There is also a grey rubber type gasket about 400mm long that sits on the top on the unit between the worktop and frame. That doesn’t seem to be interfeering with the door closure in any way.

I’ll check the baskets and make sure nothing is preventing them going fully back.
I’ll also check it’s level and square with a bubble and remove the front panel.

    Cheers for the tips!

Turns out the drawers were in the wrong way round and stopping the door from fully closing.

Seeing as how they fit either way round a little note in the user manual would have A: prevented this and B: stopped me having to spend ages googling for help.

Thanks for the responses. Great forum here. Will use again!
