ParticipantHello guys and apologies for what brand should I buy post.
We are ripping out the kitchen we inherited and building new so it’s a good time to buy reliable goods.
Fridge freezer?
We don’t think a 60 wide will give us enough storage with the two brats constantly eating but a side by side looks to take up too much space at 120 wide so we were thinking about the 90 wide models.
Is there really much more extra storage over a 60?
Would like a water dispenser for convienience instead of the Britta in the fridge but not a must have as the dispenser can take up a lot of inside space it seems?
Doesn’t need any wifi or tell me what to wear etc just a good made one that’s reliable. I have no brand affiliation and just like to spend my money on the right thing.
No real budget just good all round and have looked at Liebherr online only 1 model which looks lovely.
Thoughts?Ovens x2 and hob
I have a wanting for induction even though I have always had gas but also the back up of gas in a power cut keeps popping in my mind. 5 burner
The wife and I like neff products but only because we have no experience of anything else
Ovens would be 60 wide and built in side by side, we have had large range before but won’t suit the look of the new kitchen.
Again no real budget just good all round. Thanks for reading and hope that’s enough to go on.

Hi
There is nothing better than a Liebherr refrigeration appliance. For extra capacity why not consider a separate fridge and freezer? Put them side by side and reverse the door hinge on one to give you the side by side appearance.I personally like the Bosch, Neff and Siemens appliances. They are all from the same stable, prices will vary across the brands and products, but with a little research you can get the equivalent Bosch of a Neff cheaper. (Hope that last bit made sense) 😉
Gas everytime, more controllable and as you say power cut proof 😉 Induction hobs when they work are okay but repairs can be hefty if a board needs replacing. Don’t forget you may need to replace your pots and pans to one’s which have ferrous oxide base.
HTH 🙂

Thanks Don,
I guessed that about Liebherr and the 90 also commands a hefty price tag. I’ve just found they do 75s which we are looking at too. We have a back up ( beer ) fridge and freezer in the utility for overflow and would rather fully stock it than run one half empty.
I got the Bosch neff thing but she has seen the blooming slide away door on the neff so that choice may have been made for me!
Went to an optimum today who were very helpful and seemed to want to make deals which was nice using internet prices too.
They mentioned F&P as another good brand. Any thoughts on those for reliability spares etc? Thanks

I must be getting old but what or who is Optimum??
Fisher and Paykel are a premium end quality brand from New Zealand. Very few outlets in the UK for purchases, prices similar to Liebherr but very good.Don

Sorry Don, they call themselves optimum but it’s Euronics really.
I’ll check out F&P too then, ta.
