Best Practice to maintain a Washing Machine from day one

Friends, I think this post will help many members of the community (especially the new ones).

    Example:
    https://www.lg.com/uk/laundry/washin…es/f4x7011tsb/

    Arrives on wed. Brand new.

    A) What is best practice, to maintain & service a machine, to maximise its useful life?

I live in a hard water area (as defined by thames water) 263ppm hardness scale.

    B) Is there an economic way, of reducing the water hardness entering just the washing machine. I.e prevent scaling in the first place?

(The rapid turbo wash uses jets of water, i am concern they will get scaled and blocked.)

While this post has some specific questions about one washing machine, I ask anyone contributing to discuss best practices for all.

    You could start here:

With that level of water hardness, you will need to be careful about dosages; you will need more than normal to offset the hardness.
