New oven recommendations

I have always received top class advice on these forums before so I figured this would be my first point of enquiry now that we have decided to refit our kitchen from scratch.

I will be in the market for a new oven (elec) and hob (gas) and as I’ve been bitten before by carp manufacturers I have decided to really go for the best I can afford so thats where you fabulous folks come in.

Please can you make some suggestions of relaible products and manufacturers in terms of not breaking down and doing a good job?

I do alot of baking and cook from scratch every day so accurate temps and even cooking are very important hence elec instead of a gas oven.

Looking to spend £1000-£1800
Gas hob/elec oven
Pref double oven or small 90cm sized range
4 or 5 burners (no wok burners or hotplates or any of that carp!)
Dont mind traditional or modern

I have been looking at the Rangemaster Elan dual fuel 90, does anyone have any experience of them?

Any suggestions welcome

also if you have the width available, might be worth looking at 2 single b/i ovens – side by side. thats one of the directions that trends are heading towards recently. it also means if something screws up on one oven your still able to carry on with the other 🙂

hobwise there are very, VERY few extra-wide 4 or 5 burners with no wok burner!

If you are refitting from scratch I would go for the Rangemaster Classic 110 dual fuel. You will get two evenly size ovens as opposed to one slim oven and one standard. The wok burner is a handy addition for large maslin pans, ideal for jam or sloe gin making 😉 the 110 is about the same price as the 90 so it could make sense to go larger if space allows of course.

gandh1 suggestion of two single ovens side by side and large gas hob over is worth considering, Neff would be a good place to start IMO.

Thanks for your very valuable opinions 😀 I had never even considered that a wok burner could be useful for jam making and I do alot of it so shows how wrong you can be 😉

DonI’d go for an Rangemaster Elan 110 over a classic, that way you get a fan and multi-function oven rather than being stuck with 1 of the ovens being a simple conventional.

havent checked latest trade for that model but im assuming youd be using gillmans/dad for it don ? i did do a quote for £1999 on one all in, inc gas safe fitting about 6 months ago tho, not sure how much its gone up since then tho!?

PS i note that was for a non ffd model. i was told they were no longer offering models without hob ffd now tho, and the only ones available out there without were built before june and were sold as part of large orders. which would make that price pointless because debenhams/expert logistics etc wont have it in stock, as only the biggest big boys like comet or currys are likely to have it because as all of us in the trade know unless r/m have a big sales contract to complete, all of their “in stock” range is essentially just the carcasses built, and they then put the final coloured panels on according to each further order 😛
