ParticipantMorning all and thanks for all the posts on these forums. Very useful it has been when we recently had to buy a new washing machine after our old Hotpoint Aquarius W/Dryer had another problem and we finally got fed up with worrying about what was going to happen next! Decided in the end on an ex showroom Siemens WM12S383 model which fitted nicely inside our budget (ISE AW23 was other choice but wiorked out about £100 more with delivery)
Anyway now that we have a new washer only coming we need a dryer to slot into the utility room. As budget wasn’t really expecting a new washing machine this year we are limited on budget so what would you recommend bearing in mind Siemens, ISE are all going to be way over our budget
A new White Knight which I see are mentioned as OK in several posts or a second hand Miele/Siemens which would obviously have the risk of no warranty etc???
Help!
PS Apologies posted this in dishwasher help first!

Hi
White Knight are a good all round tumble dryer with a reasonable life span and good valur to repair. For something of a better build at a slightly higher price then the Zanussi range is always a good bet.
Whatever brand you go vented machines are much more reliable.
HTH 🙂

Cheers Don, a vented WK it will be then
Other question, do you know if you can vent through a base panel of an aluminum door. I see you can get venting kits that attach to walls, just wondering if anyone has done one through a door (that obviously isn’t used to open and exit through!!). It would be a cheaper option than removing door and bricking up with new wall and window
Thanks again

Actually being a bit thick here. As the vent hoses are a decent length usually, we could vent through the side wall next to the door I guess (would run along the right hand side of the machine) , which would save drinking a perfectly good door!!
